The Lead Financial Strategist for Frontline Worker within the MW&S financial planning & accounting (FP&A) team presents an exhilarating opportunity to support one of Microsoft's most dynamic and expansive sectors, invigorated by AI.

Your focus will be on propelling the growth of the Frontline Worker business by collaborating with marketing, sales, engineering, and finance teams to assess business performance, establish quarterly forecasts, set annual objectives, and operationalize go-to-market strategies.

Additionally, you will oversee the forecasting and target-setting for the Enterprise Mobility & Security (EMS) sector, working closely with the Security Customer Solution Area (CSA) Finance team.

Your responsibilities will include conducting financial analyses to deliver insights on business health and trends, articulating these findings to finance leadership to inform revenue strategies and strategic decision-making.

You will develop comprehensive, driver-based financial models to support decision-making regarding business structure, strategy, pricing, revenue, target setting, and overall strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:


Financial Modeling:
Develop robust, driver-based financial models to guide decision-making regarding business structure, strategy, pricing, revenue, and strategic direction.


Financial Analysis:
Perform financial analyses to provide insights into business health and trends, communicating findings to finance and marketing leadership to support informed decision-making.


Rhythm of Business:
Conduct regular reviews of revenue and key performance indicators, develop quarterly forecasts and targets, and support business reviews.


Business Health:
Define and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the health of the Frontline Worker and EMS businesses, driving strategic objectives across Microsoft leadership and the sales organization.


Annual Target Setting:
Facilitate reporting, rhythms, and in-depth analytics during the target-setting process, focusing on sales motion and pricing level drivers.


Partnership:
Collaborate with MW&S Finance teams to construct the M365 narrative, emphasizing the rationale behind business performance and necessary actions to maintain a healthy and sustainable business capable of achieving both short- and long-term goals.


Provide business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to meet revenue and profitability objectives and enhance shareholder returns.


Utilize advanced knowledge of Microsoft Finance and business dynamics (e.g., monetization strategies, market drivers, revenue channels, advanced technology) to evaluate results and analyses across various scenarios.


Develop and implement strategies to proactively mitigate or reactively address potential adverse impacts from macroeconomic and geopolitical risks.


Maintain an understanding of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes to assess potential impacts of changes and drive improvements in efficiency and accuracy.


Contribute innovative methods and approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and financial modeling. Provide guidance to colleagues on data management and operations.


Lead initiatives to leverage technology for enhanced productivity (e.g., report optimization) and ensure accurate conclusions.


Integrate diverse data sources and synthesize information into a clear, comprehensive narrative. Communicate results in a compelling and understandable manner, demonstrating awareness of business partner contexts.


Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of financial documents and business processes. Implement corrective measures as necessary.


Consult with business partners on sharing financial information, approved instruments, and processes, ensuring consistency with corporate policies. Collaborate with Compliance teams to stay updated on company policies and procedures.


Qualifications:


Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field AND 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or a related field
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field AND 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or a related field
OR equivalent experience.


Preferred:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills accompanied by advanced Excel modeling capabilities. Ability to synthesize large volumes of data and complex scenarios, formulating and constructing business cases that drive insights and optimal economic decisions.

Detail-oriented and meticulous, yet capable of seeing the bigger picture.

Effective communication skills, adaptable to various audiences, from director-level to senior leadership.

Self-motivated, able to navigate ambiguity, and quickly identify priorities across multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholders, while also being able to assertively push back when necessary.

2+ years of experience with clear evidence of significant impact and influence in previous roles.

A genuine interest in technology and a desire to understand the underlying reasons behind financial data.
