This team specializes in establishing revenue recognition policies across various products and programs, enhancing system integration, and providing guidance on GAAP revenue recognition inquiries while analyzing and reporting consolidated financial outcomes.

Role Summary:
As a Senior Finance Operations Manager, you will oversee the team responsible for formulating revenue policies for Microsoft's diverse product offerings. Your focus will be on technical revenue recognition accounting for new products and programs, ensuring effective system integration, and managing strategic and intricate business contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with technical GAAP specialists and finance/business leaders to assess the economic and accounting implications of strategic partnerships and deals.
2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft’s commercial contracts to provide proactive consultations on complex GAAP accounting matters.
3. Document accounting positions and memos for intricate deal reviews in a clear and concise manner, serving as a liaison with external audit teams.
4. Prepare and deliver training sessions for business partners to enhance understanding of accounting practices.
5. Offer expertise for special projects and respond to ad hoc requests as needed.
6. Uphold and embody Microsoft’s Culture and Values.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or
- Equivalent professional experience.

Preferred:
- 10-12 years of relevant experience, ideally with a blend of technology companies and public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606.
- Significant experience in the software or technology sector is advantageous.
- Advanced business degree and CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively, navigate ambiguity, and influence across complex organizations while fostering effective partnerships.
- Exceptional financial analysis, written and verbal communication skills, and adeptness in presenting data.

Compensation:
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year, with variations for specific locations.
