Job Title: Patient Services Representative

Overview:

The US Oncology Network is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative to join our team at Texas Oncology. This full-time position will support our Medical Oncology Department at our 301 Seton Parkway #104 location in Round Rock, Texas, with travel to Georgetown and Harker Heights. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30a - 5:00p.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and enter accurate and timely patient information into the system.
  • Collect and review patient insurance information and complete insurance forms.
  • Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility, and obtain pre-authorization of services and/or referrals.
  • Assess patient financial requirements and advise patients and families on insurance benefits, co-pays, and financial obligations.
  • Post line items and adjustments to patient accounts, balance receipts, and reconcile daily work batches.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for consistency and submit files and process all claims for payment.
  • Resolve patient questions and complaints regarding insurance billing and adjust accounts as necessary.
  • Follow up on assigned accounts and use collection techniques to keep accounts current.
  • Set up financial arrangements with patients as necessary and assist patients with researching and obtaining community resources.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Patient Services Representative will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-3 years of medical business office experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is preferred for Level 2, and a minimum of 5 years of experience is required for Level Sr.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and occasionally standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and have vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.

Work Environment:

The work environment requires frequent interaction with patients and staff. The employee will work in a fast-paced medical office environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
