Job Summary:

UNC Health Southeastern is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients under the supervision of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) or Physicians.
  • Participate in nursing assessments, care planning, patient/family education, and discharge planning.
  • Assist providers with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
  • Prepare and update patients' medical records, greet patients, provide information, and communicate with patients and families.
  • Perform the registration process for patient visits, including gathering demographic and third-party payment information.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (LPN).
  • Currently licensed as a LPN Nurse in NC.
  • Current BLS certification; recertification required annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a customer service setting, preferably in healthcare.

Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively and appropriately to the unique needs of patients across the lifespan.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence per the job's Skills Checklist before being allowed to perform independently.
