Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Director of Entertainment and Special Events to lead our entertainment and special events team at Knott's Berry Farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, production, and implementation of entertainment and special events that meet the highest standards of quality and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead a team of senior entertainment staff in setting and implementing operating standards and tone for the division. Provide guidance, direction, and collaboration to ensure that goals and accountabilities are met.
  • Entertainment Product Development: Develop entertainment product scope and financial needs to create budgetary and capital plans. Participate in capital project planning with other park leaders and guide labor and expenses spending.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Act as the primary communication and information resource between division team members, corporate and park leadership. Communicate with staff, other divisions, general managers, and collaborate with Cedar Fair Entertainment/XDS on planning and strategies of short and long-term show product and events.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Guide, direct, recommend, and/or participate in the development of new show and special event product at KBF. Collaborate with GM, XDS, marketing/brand, and other park departments to create new business opportunities that will generate untapped revenue and create unique, brand-specific guest experiences.
  • Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Theatre Management, Themed Entertainment Management, Technical Production. At least 10 years of relevant work-related experience, including at least 5 years of prior leadership/supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of all aspects of theatre, production skills, and people skills. Ability to work well under pressure, communicate effectively, and pass a background check and drug test.

We offer a competitive salary range of $138,470 - $182,000/yr. based on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and creative environment.
