We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Entertainment and Special Events to lead our entertainment and special events team at Knott's Berry Farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, production, and technical aspects of entertainment and special events, as well as managing a team of senior entertainment staff.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Lead senior entertainment management in ensuring the highest standards of show quality through coaching and quality supervision.
- Team Development: Develop and implement strategies to promote team growth in areas of professionalism and showmanship, and effectively evaluate staff and initiate corrective action to resolve performance issues.
- Event Planning and Production: Collaborate with XDS to develop entertainment product scope and financial needs, and participate in capital project planning with other park leaders.
- Communication and Collaboration: Act as the primary communication and information resource between Division team members, Corporate and Park leadership, and communicate to staff, other divisions, General Managers, and collaborate with Six Flags Entertainment / XDS on planning and strategies of short and long-term show product and events.
- Business Development: Collaborate with GM, XDS, Marketing/Brand and other park departments to create new business opportunities that will generate untapped revenue and create unique, brand-specific guest experiences.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Theatre Management, Themed Entertainment Management, Technical Production.
- Experience: At least 10 years of relevant work-related experience, with at least 5 years of prior leadership/supervisory experience.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of all aspects of theatre (Technical/Production/Operations), strong production skills (operations, producing - performance), strong people skills ability to work with strong personality types, and ability to work well under pressure.
