Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Entertainment Operations to lead our entertainment team at Knott's Berry Farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, production, and technical aspects of our entertainment and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead senior entertainment management in ensuring the highest standards of show quality through coaching and quality supervision.
  • Team Development: Develop and implement strategies to promote team growth in areas of professionalism and showmanship, aligning with Six Flags core values.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with XDS to develop entertainment product scope and financial needs, creating budgetary and capital plans.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Act as the primary communication and information resource between Division team members, Corporate and Park leadership, and communicate effectively with staff, other divisions, and General Managers.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Guide, direct, recommend, and/or participate in the development of new show and special event product at KBF, including writing, casting, direction, choreography, music development, design, technical direction, and rights negotiations.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with GM, XDS, Marketing/Brand, and other park departments to create new business opportunities, including festivals, special events, merchandise items, and marketing ideas.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Theatre Management, Themed Entertainment Management, or Technical Production.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of relevant work-related experience, with at least 5 years of prior leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Travel: At least 25% of travel is required.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of all aspects of theatre, production skills, people skills, ability to work well under pressure, and strong communications skills.
