Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grants and Contracts Analyst to join our team at Johns Hopkins University. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of sponsored research and financial management principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of complex grants and contracts, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, and compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to principal investigators, research staff, and other stakeholders on sponsored research administration, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors, research units, and central offices to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Review and analyze budgets, financial reports, and other documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and institutional policies related to sponsored research and financial management.
  • Collaborate with the Grants and Contracts Manager to ensure seamless post-award processes, including award setup, account setup, and financial reporting.
  • Provide training and support to research staff on sponsored research administration, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in sponsor guidelines, regulations, and institutional policies to ensure compliance and effective management of sponsored research.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Four years of experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions, preferably in an academic or medical setting.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting theory and practices, as well as institutional tools and sponsor websites.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as institutional software and systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of external Federal guidelines and procedures for grants and contracts, including NIH, NSF, and DOD.
What We Offer

Johns Hopkins University offers a competitive salary range of $62,900 - $110,100 annually, with a targeted salary of $75,000. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.

This is a full-time, exempt position, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. The position is remote, with occasional on-campus meetings and events.
