Position Overview:
The Junior Controls Automation Engineer is tasked with developing skills in the field of Automation and Controls. This role primarily involves working independently on designated projects or collaborating with the Automation Engineer / Senior Automation Engineer to deliver technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and perform maintenance and enhancements on the Distributed Control System (DCS).

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for all automation systems within the plant.
- Collaborate closely with the Automation Engineering team to support Production, Engineering, and Maintenance departments in the management and deployment of network integration for cement plant control systems.

Qualifications:
- A BA/BS degree in engineering or a related field is required, with a preference for a BSEE degree.
- Previous experience in a cement plant environment is advantageous, ideally around 2 years.

Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with tools and software related to control systems, including PLCs, variable frequency drives, and SCADA systems.
- Basic understanding of DCS systems, RSLogix, Modicon PLCs, and Allen Bradley PLCs is necessary.
- Proficiency in using test instruments, meters, high voltage testers, power tools, and hand tools.

Additional Skills:
- Experience in troubleshooting VFDs, DC drives, PLC systems, networking hardware, and computers is beneficial.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics is desired, along with a strong willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems is a plus.

Personal Attributes:
- A keen interest in automation and process controls is essential.
- Experience with supporting or testing LANs, VLANs, Windows Servers, and Operator stations is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and skill development is crucial.

Communication Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary.
- Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
