Job Overview

The Guest Services Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing financial, revenue, and guest administration services, ensuring that operations align with the company's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage professionally with all departments including Front Office, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Deck, and Engineering, as well as with guests.
  • Compile and present daily and weekly financial reports for the vessel.
  • Lead, mentor, and train pursers and first pursers onboard.
  • Manage scheduling and crew accommodations for the Guest Services office.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, POS, and PMS systems effectively; experience with MXP is advantageous.
  • Oversee all financial transactions onboard.
  • Handle guest and crew accounts with precision.
  • Conduct payroll functions for crew members.
  • Ensure smooth embarkation and debarkation processes for guests.
  • Coordinate provisioning needs at designated ports.
  • Promote a culture of accountability among all staff to meet operational standards.
  • Solicit feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Uphold the highest standards of marine practice and professionalism.
  • Participate in USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures as required.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to achieve operational success.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
  • Ability to interact positively with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and POS systems.
  • Capability to train and supervise team members effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills to independently manage work assignments.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Experience:

Minimum of five to seven years in a similar role within the hospitality industry is required. Experience in the cruise sector is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by regulations.
