Job Overview
The Guest Services Manager is responsible for overseeing financial, revenue, and guest service operations onboard, ensuring adherence to the company's high standards of service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
The Guest Services Manager must effectively engage with all departments including Front Office, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Deck, and Engineering, as well as interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.
1. Prepare daily and weekly financial summaries for the vessel.
2. Manage, mentor, and train the guest services team onboard.
3. Oversee scheduling and accommodation arrangements for the guest services office.
4. Utilize Microsoft Office, POS, and PMS systems efficiently.
5. Maintain accountability for all financial transactions onboard.
6. Handle all guest and crew accounts with precision.
7. Execute payroll functions for crew members.
8. Ensure smooth embarkation and disembarkation processes for guests.
9. Coordinate supply needs for the vessel at designated ports.
10. Uphold the company’s mission by promoting a culture of success.
11. Hold all staff accountable to meet operational standards.
12. Solicit feedback and implement actions for continuous improvement.
13. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and marine practices.
14. Participate in all mandated safety drills and emergency procedures.
15. Perform additional duties as necessary to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable
Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is required.
- Ability to engage with individuals at all levels in a professional manner.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and POS systems.
- Capability to train and supervise team members effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to independently plan and complete assignments.
- Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Experience:
- A minimum of five to seven years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the cruise industry is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated.
