Position Title: Operations Coordinator, Men's Basketball

Job Overview:

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Operations Coordinator for the Men's Basketball program. As a prominent institution in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our athletics program features 34 varsity teams with around 1,000 student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division I level.

Role Responsibilities:

The Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Head Coach of Men's Basketball and will be responsible for the effective coordination and management of the daily operations of the Brown Men's Basketball program. This role includes assisting the Head Coach in various aspects of program operations and promotional activities for a Division I men's basketball team.

Compliance and Ethics:

All employees within the division are expected to uphold exemplary ethical standards and adhere to NCAA regulations. Responsibilities must be executed in accordance with NCAA and Ivy League guidelines, and any known violations must be reported to the compliance office and relevant authorities. Employees in coaching roles are required to participate in annual NCAA rules education regarding recruiting and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certifications, which are provided at no cost through the division.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in basketball (including collegiate playing, coaching, or operations); Division I experience is preferred.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience in planning and organizing team travel is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively engage with student-athletes, parents, alumni, colleagues, and the public.
  • A strong commitment to the welfare of student-athletes is necessary.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to foster a community that embraces diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
  • Knowledge and commitment to compliance with NCAA, ECAC, Ivy League, and University regulations regarding operations.

The selected candidate will be required to undergo satisfactory criminal background and DMV checks prior to beginning employment.
