Overview:

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Operations Coordinator for the Men's Basketball program. As a prestigious member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics department comprises 34 varsity teams with around 1,000 student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division I level.

Role Responsibilities:

The Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Head Coach of Men's Basketball and will be tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the Brown Men's Basketball program. This includes assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of program management and promotion of a Division I men's basketball team.

Key Duties Include:
  • Ensuring compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, as well as Ivy League policies.
  • Maintaining ethical standards and reporting any potential violations to the compliance office.
  • Supporting the Head Coach in planning and executing team travel logistics.
  • Managing multiple tasks effectively and independently.
  • Fostering positive interactions with student-athletes, parents, alumni, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to the welfare and development of student-athletes.
  • Contributing to an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and cultures.


Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:
  • An Associate's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in basketball, whether through collegiate playing, coaching, or operational roles; Division I experience is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • A keen attention to detail and experience in planning team travel.
  • A demonstrated ability to engage positively with various stakeholders.

The selected candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check and DMV checks that meet the standards set by Brown University prior to starting employment.
