Job Overview:
Brown University Athletics and Recreation is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Operations Coordinator for the Men's Basketball program. This position plays a crucial role in the management and organization of daily operations within a prestigious Ivy League athletics program, which encompasses 34 varsity teams and approximately 1,000 student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division I level.
Key Responsibilities:
The Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Head Coach of Men's Basketball and will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the coordination and organization of all day-to-day activities related to the Men's Basketball program.
- Assisting the Head Coach in various operational tasks and promotional activities for the Division I men's basketball team.
- Ensuring compliance with NCAA, Ivy League, and University regulations, including reporting any potential violations.
- Planning and organizing team travel arrangements, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
- Maintaining communication with student-athletes, parents, alumni, and other stakeholders to foster positive relationships.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- An Associate's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in basketball, whether through collegiate playing, coaching, or operational roles, with a preference for Division I experience.
- Strong organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills.
- A keen attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A demonstrated commitment to the welfare of student-athletes and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- A strong understanding of NCAA, ECAC, and Ivy League rules and regulations.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check and DMV checks as part of the hiring process.
