Position Summary

We are looking for a qualified Electrical Project Engineer IV with extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly in power distribution and control systems design for water and wastewater facilities. The successful candidate will possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in projects involving water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, and related infrastructure. Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with U.S. codes and standards are crucial for this position. This role offers a hybrid work environment, linked to our offices in specific regions.

Salary Range: $95,000-$120,000 annually *

*Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical power distribution systems from utility meters to loads ranging from 120V to 15KV for water and wastewater facilities, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
  • Create designs for utility service entrances, switchboards, motor control centers, and generator systems for water and wastewater applications.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, power plans, control schematics, and conduit block diagrams.
  • Design instrumentation and control systems, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), motor controls, and SCADA systems.
  • Conduct engineering calculations for load summaries, breaker sizing, and voltage drop assessments.
  • Identify hazardous locations per NFPA 820 and NEC 500 and document them accordingly.
  • Prepare cost estimates and review shop drawings while responding to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Perform field inspections and oversee the commissioning of electrical and control systems.
  • Tailor specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to project requirements.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for creating detailed electrical and control system drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and control systems design for water and wastewater facilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to design electrical systems in compliance with NEC and other standards.
  • Strong skills in creating P&IDs and understanding electrical drawings.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. codes and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progressing towards an Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with SKM software for power system studies.
  • Experience in E&I construction observation.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a hybrid environment, involving both office and fieldwork.
  • Fieldwork may involve exposure to various outdoor conditions.
