Position Title: Heavy Industrial Senior Estimator

Role Summary: We are in search of a highly skilled Heavy Industrial Senior Estimator to enhance our Phoenix office. This position is tailored for an experienced professional with 5-10 years of heavy industrial estimating experience, particularly in the water and wastewater treatment arena. As a Senior Estimator, you will spearhead the estimation processes for large-scale and intricate projects, ensuring accuracy and strategic insight in cost evaluations. Your proficiency will be pivotal in guiding our projects towards successful completion, aligning with both financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation and oversight of detailed cost estimates for large heavy industrial projects, particularly in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Examine project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to create precise and comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Manage self-performance estimation efforts in areas such as process piping and equipment, underground utilities, structural concrete, earthworks, and structural/miscellaneous metals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to collect and validate cost data, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Assess and review subcontractor bids and proposals, ensuring they meet project specifications and financial goals.
  • Develop and maintain advanced cost databases and models, utilizing industry insights and historical data.
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks, opportunities, and uncertainties that may impact project costs and timelines.
  • Provide strategic assistance in the preparation of bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and justifications.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators and team members, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, labor rates, material costs, and innovative construction methods to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.

Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000, based on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in heavy industrial estimating with a concentration on water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in self-performance estimation for process piping and equipment, underground utilities, structural concrete, earthworks, and structural/miscellaneous metals.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities with the ability to guide and oversee a team.
  • Advanced analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with a proven track record in effective project cost management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage complex tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
