Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Events and Group Sales Manager, also known as the Executive Meeting Manager, plays a pivotal role in driving revenue for the restaurant, event spaces, catering services, and group accommodations. This essential position collaborates closely with hotel, restaurant, and culinary leadership to secure bookings for events within the catering division and restaurant.

This individual will manage room block reservations related to events, ensuring all details are meticulously coordinated and communicated to enhance event profitability while providing clients with exceptional experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate agreements for group bookings and catering/restaurant events.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through effective meeting and event coordination.
  • Create detailed group resumes and facilitate departmental meetings with Hotel Department Heads to ensure comprehensive information sharing.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities through strategic upselling of room rentals and AV services.
  • Assist in the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Conduct site inspections for event and meeting spaces, both on-site and off-site, while maintaining relationships through diligent follow-up.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals and contracts in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Ensure billing accuracy and review bills with clients prior to final processing.
  • Oversee group room blocks and meeting spaces for various events.
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups of small to medium size.
  • Develop and implement a quarterly action plan focused on Account Management, New Business Development, and departmental profitability.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in hospitality sales or events operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales techniques with strong negotiation skills and market insight.
  • Creative, innovative, proactive, and customer-focused.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Lightspeed, Ci/TY, Word, Excel, and event management software.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate varying work schedules.
