Job Overview

Primus Metals Inc. is actively seeking a Quality Inspector Level II or III to join our team on either the 2nd or 3rd shift. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and precision of our manufactured components.

Shift Details:
2nd shift operates Monday to Friday from 4 PM to 4:30 AM, while the 3rd shift runs Friday to Sunday from 6 AM to 6:30 PM.

Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing processes and minimizing non-conformance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute First Piece, Lot, and Final Inspections in alignment with customer requirements.
  • Perform detailed reviews and accurately interpret acceptance criteria based on customer purchase orders and specifications, including industry standards.
  • Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Fish-Bone, and 5-Why to facilitate effective Root Cause Corrective Actions.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks adhere to the Quality Management System.
  • Develop, revise, and enhance offline and online CMM/SmartScope programs and reports to meet customer specifications.
  • Create operational instructions specific to part/machine setups for CMM/SmartScope.
  • Analyze CMM/SmartScope reports to assess compliance with customer prints and specifications.
  • Establish detailed in-process and final inspection plans.
  • Audit in-process inspection reports and checklists on the production floor.
  • Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections and complete Inspection Reports.
  • Compile and verify the accuracy of shipment documentation as required by customers.
  • Adhere to internal inspection procedures and maintain comprehensive inspection records.
  • Manage the ERP system in accordance with company policies.
  • Stay updated with industry inspection techniques, practices, and standards.
  • Maintain proficiency with industry-standard inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, along with their calibration and maintenance.
  • Understand and apply GD&T standards and inspection methodologies.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, including Calibration, Audits, CAPA, and Customer Complaints.
  • Ensure proper storage and backup of all data generated by CMM machines.
  • Support the QC team with FAI, In-Process, or Final Inspection activities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with CMM/SmartScope software.
  • Familiarity with Calypso software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Special Processes, including NDT and coatings.
  • Strong understanding of Coordinate Measurement Systems.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines; experience with Optical Gaging Products is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Compensation: The pay range is $32.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
