Job Overview

Martin/Martin, Inc. is in search of a skilled Licensed Land Surveyor to enhance our Civil Engineering Division. This position is based in our Lakewood, Colorado office and involves engaging in a variety of projects across the Rocky Mountain Region. You will be responsible for executing survey tasks that necessitate expertise in established surveying methodologies and standards.

You will play a key role in project discussions and enhance your communication skills to effectively manage survey data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform survey operations with minimal oversight, utilizing your understanding of surveying principles in both land and construction contexts.
  • Enhance project management abilities and represent Martin/Martin in project discussions.
  • Advocate for surveying initiatives and assist in the preparation of survey proposals.
  • Draft and evaluate legal descriptions, ensuring precision and adherence to regulations.
  • Analyze and process field data collected during surveys.
  • Facilitate coordination between office tasks and field operations.
  • Investigate public records and interpret legal documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of documentary and physical evidence.
  • Oversee computations for control surveys, subdivision sections, boundary evaluations, and construction staking.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Reduce and interpret GPS control survey data.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, exhibits, and plats for various projects.
  • Authorize and stamp legal documents that you have prepared or reviewed.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License with an acceptable violation record.
  • At least eight years of experience in surveying.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.) license.
  • Proficient in client interactions.
  • Capable of performing advanced survey calculations.
  • Field experience as a crew chief.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing a surveying team.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in surveying technology or civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with both fieldwork and office tasks.
