Role Summary

The Manufacturing Process Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing our production capabilities. This position involves the investigation, documentation, and implementation of manufacturing processes and enhancements. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving efficiency and innovation within our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine process documentation, including work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
  • Assess and integrate customer engineering changes into production workflows.
  • Translate engineering specifications into actionable manufacturing plans within a CNC machining context.
  • Formulate productivity strategies for optimal CNC equipment utilization during product development.
  • Enhance manufacturing techniques and equipment to improve part production.
  • Provide technical support across production departments to achieve operational goals.
  • Continuously elevate quality and productivity metrics within assigned areas.
  • Ensure safety and ergonomic standards are met in all processes.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and apply effective problem-solving strategies.
  • Support the interpretation of customer product documentation and define manufacturing processes accordingly.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct design for manufacturability reviews and risk assessments for new product builds.
  • Serve as an expert on production equipment, optimizing CNC machine settings for peak performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the quality department to establish inspection criteria and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
  • Engage with various teams, including suppliers and engineering, to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Adhere to established quality management systems and protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in manufacturing.
  • A minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in CNC machining and process improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in DFM and NPI methodologies.
  • Solid analytical skills, with knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and control practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
