Sales Director

Ocean Properties Hotels, Resorts, & Affiliates is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Manager to join their team at the Hollywood Beach Marriott.
This individual will be responsible for selling within the given market segment, building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers, and responding to incoming group opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, be aggressive in targeting new business, and exceed established goals for their market segment.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for selling within the given market segment.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Responds in a timely manner to incoming group opportunities for business.
- Ensures business booked is within hotel parameters.
- Processes all business correspondence within acceptable time limits.
- Manages and maintains account files.
- Understands the overall market for each hotel, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.
- Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups.
Additional duties may include representing the company at out-of-town conventions and trade shows, selling and detailing small catering groups and local events, and executing additional duties as directed by the Director of Sales.
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
- 1-2 years of successful experience in reactive or proactive hotel group sales.
- Catering experience in a hotel, resort, country club, or similar.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. The ideal candidate will also have strong customer service and problem-solving skills, a professional demeanor, excellent listening skills, and exceptional detail in follow-up.
