Business Development Director, Ocean Conservation

About the Role
The National Geographic Society is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director, Business Operations, Pristine Seas. This is a unique opportunity to work with a world-renowned organization and contribute to the protection of our planet's oceans.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the business operations of the Pristine Seas program, including budget management, contract administration, and insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Business Operations, and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Develop and implement business processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Business Operations team, including training and development.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and other senior leaders to ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business operations, management, or a related field.
- Advanced understanding of business planning, administrative process development, high-level budgeting, and insurance coverage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a non-profit or conservation organization.
- Knowledge of marine conservation and operations in marine environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment.
