The Engineering Leadership Position at ABM

The Director of Engineering is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a Strategic Maintenance Management Plan focused on ensuring the safe, productive, and efficient operation of all building systems.

The Company may require the successful candidate to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as permitted by law, allowing exceptions for medical or religious reasons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Recognize and enhance the impact of building systems on workplace experience.
  • Maintenance Management: Manage maintenance activities to promote efficiency and reliability.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the engineering team in energy-related projects.
  • Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering studies based on budget constraints.
  • Energy Conservation: Implement energy conservation measures and root cause analysis.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Client Relationships: Develop strong client relationships based on integrity and quality.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of local building codes.
Job Specifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years' maintenance field experience.
  • Certifications: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or similar accreditations preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and interpersonal skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills.
  • System Experience: Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Flexibility: Flexible to work outside normal hours when necessary.
