Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Marketing and Promotions Specialist to join our dynamic team at Sourcebooks Kids. This role is perfect for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in marketing or publicity, particularly within the publishing sector. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in elevating our authors and titles through targeted marketing strategies, encompassing social media, influencer collaborations, publicity initiatives, and author engagements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee relationships with influencers, manage mailings, and maintain a database, crafting innovative organic and paid campaigns for various children's book formats.
  • Coordinate author events, including bookstore appearances, school interactions, and participation in literary festivals.
  • Design and implement publicity strategies to maximize visibility for our publications across both traditional and digital media platforms.
  • Act as a passionate advocate for our titles within the organization, ensuring alignment and support across all departments.
  • Support digital marketing efforts, which include managing social media accounts, conducting influencer outreach, and organizing mailings of Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) and finished books.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between authors, agents, editors, and the sales team, effectively communicating marketing and publicity plans for each title.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, publicity, or event coordination, preferably in the publishing industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey strategies and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for children's literature and a solid understanding of current trends in publishing and digital marketing.
