Position SummaryWe are seeking a driven individual with a Bachelor's Degree in Mining, Geological, or Civil Engineering and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a technical capacity within the mining sector. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of the mining industry, including safety management, operational procedures, and environmental regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager of Mine Technical Services, the Junior Mine Engineer will undertake the following duties:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee long-term projects, particularly in mine design.
- Annually update reserve calculations.
- Participate in exploration and assist during the engineering phase of development and operational tasks.
- Help develop and manage mine waste dumps and stockpile designs.
- Optimize mining methods, procedures, and equipment to maximize productivity and extraction rates.
- Conduct exploration and identification studies for raw material sources, including drilling programs and surface mapping.
- Ensure operations align with the mining plan.
- Support safety management initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide geological expertise for technical assessments related to new resource acquisitions.
- 1-2 years of experience in a technical role within the mining industry.
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of the mining sector, including safety management and environmental regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office, ArcPro, Vulcan, or other mine planning software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Able to meet competitive deadlines.
- Strong listening and analytical abilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
- This role involves a combination of fieldwork and office responsibilities. Daily fieldwork will expose you to various weather conditions, while office duties will require working at a desk with a laptop and phone.
