Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer who will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment essential for our mining and processing operations. This position is vital for ensuring the operational reliability, efficiency, and safety of our electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate electrical components and systems, including but not limited to instrumentation, controls, motors, DCS/PLC, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, lighting, grounding, cable tray, and power distribution systems.
- Assess technical specifications and drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards while enhancing constructability.
- Oversee electrical construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and budget constraints.
- Conduct cable routing, interpret electrical schematics, and manage the erection of substations and control rooms, along with troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in Mesabi Ranging mining operations is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to safety best practices.
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or professional field.
Physical Demands
- This role requires a combination of office work and field activities, including some lifting and physical strength.
