Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mining Surveyor with proficiency in CAD and GIS software to join our team. This position will involve the creation and maintenance of precise CAD drawings and GIS data related to our mining initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess experience in mining environments and demonstrate expertise in both CAD and GIS applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the technical GIS database to support mining operations and development activities.
  • Integrate GIS data with CAD designs to facilitate planning, exploration, and operational tasks.
  • Conduct precise land and mine surveys utilizing advanced surveying tools and methodologies.
  • Develop, update, and sustain CAD drawings and models of mining sites, including topographic maps and mine plans.
  • Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the integration of survey data into mining strategies.
  • Perform spatial analysis and data interpretation to aid in planning and operational decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards during surveying tasks.
  • Conduct regular site evaluations and modify survey data and CAD models as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on survey-related matters and CAD applications.
  • Prepare and present survey reports, documentation, and CAD drawings for review by management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying and CAD equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) in a mining context.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mining operations, surveying techniques, and relevant regulations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a knack for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to interpret and manipulate complex datasets.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Physical Requirements
  • This role involves a combination of fieldwork and office responsibilities. Daily fieldwork will expose you to various weather conditions, while office duties will require working on a laptop and desk.
