Position SummaryWe are seeking a meticulous and skilled Mine Surveyor proficient in CAD and GIS software to join our dynamic team. This position involves the creation and maintenance of detailed CAD drawings and GIS data pertinent to mining projects. The ideal candidate will possess experience in mining settings and demonstrate proficiency in both CAD and GIS software.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the technical GIS database to support mining operations and development initiatives.
- Integrate GIS data with CAD designs to facilitate planning, exploration, and operational tasks.
- Conduct precise land and mine surveys utilizing advanced surveying equipment and methodologies.
- Develop, update, and maintain CAD drawings and models of mining sites, including topographic maps, mine plans, and cross-sectional profiles.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the integration of survey data into mining plans and operations.
- Perform spatial analysis and data interpretation to assist in planning and operational decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards during surveying activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections and modify survey data and CAD models as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance on survey-related matters and CAD applications.
- Prepare and present survey reports, documentation, and CAD drawings for review by management and stakeholders.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying and CAD equipment to guarantee optimal functionality.
- Demonstrated experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) in a mining context.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining operations, surveying techniques, and relevant regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a proven capacity to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Robust analytical skills with the capability to interpret and manipulate complex data.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- This role involves a combination of fieldwork and office responsibilities. Fieldwork will be conducted year-round, exposing you to various weather conditions. Office duties will require working at a desk with a laptop and phone.
