Position Overview

The Customs and Inbound Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing import compliance and logistics activities for raw materials and finished goods entering the US market. This position is essential for ensuring seamless operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for regional preferential treatment certifications, managing annual renewals and addressing ad-hoc requests.
  • Oversee duty drawback and trading programs in collaboration with external service providers, while monitoring vendor performance metrics monthly.
  • Maintain accurate customs-related material master data, including HTS codes and country of origin, ensuring global consistency within the SAP ECC system.
  • Facilitate the inbound logistics process, coordinating with drayage companies and warehouse managers to ensure timely goods receipt.
  • Direct customs brokerage providers to prioritize incoming shipments, minimizing delays and associated costs.
  • Develop expertise in supply chain logistics and customs regulations, engaging in continuous education to adapt to evolving compliance requirements.
  • Generate reports related to inbound order flows and the performance of drayage providers.

This position is vital for the organization, contributing to cost savings through effective management of import duties and ensuring the timely delivery of materials. By managing relationships with various external vendors, this role supports operational continuity and enhances customer satisfaction through compliance documentation.

Collaboration and Relationships

Work closely with internal teams such as Supply Planning, Global Compliance Management, and Warehouse Management, as well as external partners including customs brokers and logistics providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Less than three years of professional experience in logistics or customs compliance.
  • Familiarity with US HTS codes and product classification processes.
  • Strong understanding of global logistics and import/export procedures.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, with SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-paced setting.
