Position: Transportation Specialist II

Shift Hours: 7 AM to 4:30 PM

Starting Salary: $20.00 per hour

Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Summary:

As a Transportation Specialist II, you will play a crucial role in our logistics team, tasked with the safe and efficient delivery of goods. You will embody our company's values through professionalism and courtesy while strictly following all traffic regulations. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and effective route navigation skills. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring timely deliveries and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods to specified locations, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws.
  • Load and unload items, ensuring secure transport to prevent damage.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes for timely and efficient service, taking into account traffic and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage and fuel usage, and report any discrepancies to the logistics supervisor.
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including professional communication and assistance with unloading as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding safety and vehicle maintenance.
  • Manage unexpected delays or issues during transport, communicating effectively with the logistics team and clients.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and organized, ensuring all safety equipment and documentation are current.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and prioritize urgent deliveries to meet customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL Class A certification.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical examination.
  • Capability to drive a Straight Truck up to 26,000 GVWR.
  • At least one year of verifiable driving experience in similar vehicles within the last three years.
  • Ability to read maps and follow directions accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy items and perform loading/unloading tasks.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Information:

The starting pay for this role is $20.00 per hour; however, the final salary may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available as part of the compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position.
