Role Overview:

As a Logistics Operations Leader, you will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, procurement, production planners, IT, and other essential resources to strategically manage the flow of materials and information from clients through procurement to delivery. This role involves matrix management responsibilities across business units and support groups for production planning, shipping, receiving, and inventory operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all procurement and materials management activities, including order placement, supplier evaluation, price negotiation, and compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Manage Production Planning's manufacturing resource-planning activities to ensure timely customer deliveries.
  • Monitor shipping and receiving performance, addressing discrepancies to enhance process efficiency.
  • Utilize corporate tracking systems to maintain high standards of material management.
  • Define and implement automated systems to streamline material flow from procurement to delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to material management policies aligned with corporate inventory control objectives.
  • Collaborate with divisional materials teams to maintain purchasing and supplier management continuity.
  • Facilitate corporate initiatives for supplier management and quality certifications.
  • Support audit requirements related to planning, procurement, or inventory control functions.
  • Manage departmental budget within established guidelines.
  • Develop and sustain cost reduction programs for procurement and delivery processes.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for all materials team members.
  • Implement best practices in supplier management systems.
  • Support and apply lean principles across the division.
  • Facilitate materials requirement planning techniques throughout the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing or materials management within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive managerial experience in advanced materials management systems, including supply chain management and asset management.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or materials management required; certifications in materials management and quality preferred.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to identify automation opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
