Job Overview

Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for examining and testing products and materials to ensure they meet customer specifications and comply with regulatory standards, thereby upholding quality and safety protocols. This role involves maintaining accurate records of final inspections, ensuring traceability, and managing documentation as mandated by QQE and its clientele.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and clean components as necessary.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on products for aesthetic defects, dimensional accuracy, and other specified characteristics according to established methods.
  • Identify and adhere to critical control points and preventive strategies.
  • Document and verify essential data, including critical features and necessary certifications.
  • Handle products carefully to minimize the risk of contamination and damage.
  • Review CMM printouts for discrepancies.
  • Communicate any quality-related issues or customer requirements to office and shop personnel.
  • Draft non-conformance reports as needed.
  • Examine routers for completeness and accuracy upon receipt for inspection.
  • Perform laser engraving on parts as required by procedures.
  • Generate and scan barcode labels, shipping documents, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Package products according to QQE and customer specifications.
  • Fulfill tasks aligned with the QQE Quality Management System, including record and document control.
  • Conduct internal audits to monitor compliance with established quality processes.
  • Engage in and support the implementation of new initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Interact with both internal and external clients to meet their requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge: A high school diploma is required, with experience in process improvement techniques preferred. An associate's degree in industrial or manufacturing technology or a related field is advantageous. A background in quality assurance is preferred, along with 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality-focused environment.

Abilities: Candidates should possess strong conceptual skills and attention to detail. The ability to read technical drawings and identify critical features is essential. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to collaborate within a team to achieve organizational objectives. Adherence to established inspection procedures is crucial, and legible handwriting is required for documentation purposes.

Skills: Proficiency in controls and instrumentation, as well as computer skills for record maintenance, is required. Familiarity with quality processes and measurement/testing equipment is essential. Candidates should be adept in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometers.


Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and possess 20/20 vision, with or without corrective lenses.
