In this hybrid position, you will report directly to our Head of Fleet Response.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive Operations Center initiatives by defining project scope, implementing processes, and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Lead a dedicated team of full-time employees overseeing 24/7 operations, managing high-severity incidents, ensuring quality of resolutions, and iterating on enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal safety and product teams to develop roadmaps for tooling, processes, and personnel enablement to enhance event resolution.
  • Oversee long-term vendor strategies for the Operations Center, including budget management, invoicing, cost forecasting, contract negotiations, and service level agreements.
  • Formulate strategies to mitigate the impact of high-risk events, assess ongoing vendor partnership requirements, and present recommendations to influence senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure operational accountability by coordinating with vendor contacts to monitor and guarantee successful execution of contract terms related to resources, quality, and service delivery.
  • Enhance vendor selection and overall operational strategies to align with Waymo's objectives and long-term vision by sourcing new partners, expanding service offerings, and leading contract negotiations.
  • Implement vendor-specific infrastructure, including necessary security measures and tools to meet service level agreements.
  • Conduct internal business reviews and collaborate with global teams to improve key performance metrics.
Your Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in program/vendor management within operations, strategy, and planning.
  • 5+ years of experience leading 24/7 operations related to emergency response, incident management, or high-risk event mitigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Proficient in leveraging project management best practices and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience managing multiple vendor partnerships for a single operation.
  • 8+ years of experience leading outsourcing engagements, particularly in scaling operations and enhancing immature processes.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across U.S. locations is outlined below. Actual starting pay will be determined based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role is remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and comprehensive Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
