Position Overview:

In the role of Senior Financial Operations Manager, you will serve as the primary liaison for financial governance across designated programs. Reporting to the Division Finance Manager, you will collaborate closely with program leadership and operational teams to ensure comprehensive awareness of financial activities. This high-profile position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple financial priorities that impact critical program areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial monitoring, including revenue, expenditures, and obligations for assigned funding sources, providing insightful analysis to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Engage with finance leadership and team members to coordinate work assignments, set priorities, and facilitate training.
  • Ensure thorough understanding of all appropriated and non-appropriated funds, researching relevant statutes and contractual obligations.
  • Authorize all purchases through the procurement system, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Deliver strategic financial guidance to programs, assisting them in achieving their budgetary goals.
  • Facilitate training sessions for program staff to enhance their understanding of financial reports and compliance requirements.
  • Manage updates to funding across various systems, ensuring accurate payroll reporting and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall financial management of the organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, fostering effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and apply critical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques for budget evaluation and forecasting.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline, coupled with five years of relevant experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity. A Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience. Experience in government finance is advantageous.
