Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide scheduling support and coordination of appointments for patients, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and staff, addressing billing and service inquiries.
  • Coordinate other services needed, including medical records and patient education materials.
  • Function as an in-clinic resource for patients, families, providers, and staff regarding billing and service questions.
  • Facilitate requests for billing-related items, such as price estimates or itemized statements.
  • Process incoming calls and correspondence regarding billing issues and service questions.
  • Provide first-level resolution for patient complaints and identify and submit resolutions for patient or client issues.
  • Assist with patient account adjustments, including updating patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Respond to billing and quality of care issues, complaints, or concerns.
  • Document all contacts with patients or clients as needed.
  • May complete prior authorization, referrals, complex specialty scheduling, and manage work queues.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience meeting required functional competencies.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a Clinic Office Specialist role.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a medical receptionist or customer service position.
  • 2 to 5 years of basic medical terminology experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate's or Vocational degree in Medical Reception or equivalent program.
  • 0 to 2 years of previous scheduling experience with electronic medical records.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary: Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently.
