Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Adult Services Associate to join our team at the Naperville Public Library. The successful candidate will provide exceptional reference and readers' advisory services to our customers, while also supporting staff in managing collections and conducting programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to staff and the public in the area of Adult & Teen Services.
  • Stay current with adult and teen literature, relevant technology, and library trends.
  • Assist and occasionally lead presentations of library programs.
  • Assemble and arrange displays of public information, bulletin boards, books, and other library materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing and IT to add content and promote services relevant to teen services on the Library website.
  • Assist librarians with collection management, including selecting and evaluating materials for replacement, repair, or withdrawal from the library collection.
  • Prepare reports and statistics for review as requested.
  • Represent the library at community events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or minimum 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency a plus.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced library environment, communicating with staff and customers in person and over the phone. The position may require standing for prolonged periods, moving equipment or library materials weighing up to 35 lbs, and having reliable means of transportation to attend meetings and conferences.
