Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Contract Recruiting Coordinator to join our team at Sunrise Transportation. The ideal candidate will assist in the recruitment and hiring process for school bus drivers and support staff, ensuring a seamless candidate experience. You will work closely with the HR team and hiring managers to manage recruitment logistics, candidate communications, and administrative tasks to meet the growing demands of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Candidate Sourcing and Job Posting:
  • Post job openings for school bus drivers and other roles on various platforms (job boards, company website, social media, etc.).
  • Assist in sourcing potential candidates through active searches, networking, and referrals.
  1. Application Management:
  • Monitor incoming applications and resumes, ensuring they are properly categorized and tracked.
  • Screen resumes and applications to shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience.
  1. Interview Coordination:
  • Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring all logistics are arranged (e.g., time, location, video conferencing, etc.).
  • Manage interview calendars and follow up with candidates regarding the status of their applications.
  1. Candidate Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Provide timely updates to candidates about their status and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Handle pre-employment inquiries and guide candidates through necessary paperwork and background checks.
  1. Onboarding Support:
  • Assist with pre-employment requirements such as background checks, drug tests, and DMV checks (for drivers).
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation sessions in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure all required documentation is collected and processed accurately for new hires.
  1. Recruitment Administration:
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records, reports, and candidate information using applicant tracking systems (ATS) or spreadsheets.
  • Track recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill and candidate pipeline updates.
  • Assist with any other recruitment-related administrative tasks as needed.
  1. Support Hiring Events:
  • Assist in planning and coordinating recruitment events such as job fairs, open houses, and school outreach programs.
  • Attend events as needed, representing the company and engaging potential candidates.


Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (required). Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field (preferred).


Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR coordination, ideally in transportation, logistics, or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with school bus driver recruitment processes is a plus.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR software.


Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with candidates professionally and courteously.

Organizational Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and working within deadlines.
  • Outgoing personality, engaged, creative, and organized.


Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of school bus driver qualifications, licensing (CDL), and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with transportation safety and compliance regulations.
