Job Objective: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all financial and accounting functions of the oneworld Management Company (oMC). This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing daily operations while also engaging in strategic financial analysis. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring robust internal controls across all financial processes
  • Managing core accounting and financial reporting duties
  • Executing operational accounting tasks, including accounts payable, payroll, and collections
  • Providing financial insights and analysis to various departments

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Establish and maintain stringent controls over financial processes in collaboration with the Director of Finance, including documentation and periodic testing of key controls.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting close, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidations.
  • Prepare comprehensive management and financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Work closely with department leaders to validate financial budgets and forecasts, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for audit processes, including annual financial statement audits.
  • Assist in tax provision accounting and the preparation of tax returns across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Compile the annual financial report for the company.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations across all operating jurisdictions.

Accounting Operations:

  • Manage airline billings through the IATA clearing house.
  • Review and process purchase requisitions and invoices.
  • Coordinate payment runs, payroll, and cash flow reporting.
  • Conduct periodic audits of the company's IT asset register.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis for strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in the oneworld Audit Committee, preparing necessary materials.
  • Support the development of board materials related to finance and budget updates.
  • Facilitate supplier and contract reviews to track renewal deadlines.
  • Perform industry analysis to provide insights based on financial statements.
  • Assist in the development and management of the company's risk assessment framework.
  • Address other ad-hoc requirements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA designation is highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, particularly in English.
  • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is necessary.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics 365 is advantageous.
  • Ability to implement and understand internal control frameworks.
  • Familiarity with financial metrics supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills.
  • A self-starter with a disciplined approach to achieving results.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex concepts effectively.
  • Experience in international markets is a plus.
