Key Responsibilities

Role Description:


The Accounting Analyst supports a variety of accounting functions, including acting as the administrator for the North America account reconciliation system, conducting ad-hoc accounting research, and serving as the liaison with Policy Administration to manage the North America General Ledger group's policy obligations.

Additionally, the Accounting Analyst may prepare journal entries, perform complex reconciliations, assist others with exceptions, and analyze trends and costs to validate outcomes.

This team member draws on several years of experience and judgment to plan and execute various job functions and closing activities.

The Accounting Analyst operates with minimal supervision and collaborates with other departments and external parties as needed.

In this position, you will:
  • Administer the reconciliation software program by assigning roles and responsibilities, maintaining reports, and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Coordinate the General Ledger group's policy process, ensuring appropriate review and completion timelines.
  • Review general ledger reconciliations for compliance with policies and SOX, while seeking process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide documentation to external and internal auditors as part of their SOX testing.
  • Prepare and input complex journal entries into the general ledger.
  • Calculate and validate accruals, guiding others in the process.
  • Generate complex monthly management reports and analyses, including ad-hoc requests with minimal direction.
  • Prepare reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts and review reconciliations performed by others.
  • Research, document, and resolve challenging reconciling items, requiring advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Lead documentation and compliance efforts related to SOX.
  • Investigate unusual or non-routine transactions and account balance discrepancies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a major in Accounting is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate or public accounting is required, preferably within the financial services sector.

Licenses
  • CPA license is preferred but not mandatory.
