Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager - Strategic Growth is responsible for overseeing all phases of new base development and ensuring timely completion of new base start-up initiatives. This role requires a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments to identify potential locations and develop business plans for greenfield growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of new base development, including site selection, business planning, and project management.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential new locations and develop business plans to achieve success for greenfield growth.
  • Provide on-site management of business opportunities related to potential new bases of operations, joint ventures, and base moves.
  • Analyze data with the development team to inform new location decisions.
  • Develop business plans for proposed new sites, including market research and financial analysis.
  • Validate and interpret information gathered through on-site visits, local and industry intelligence, and competitive analysis.
  • Assist in the development planning process in conjunction with senior management.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Business Development and Special Services on all projects.
  • Evaluate existing bases of operation for suggested interventions/modifications to support volume increases.
  • Conduct research and evaluate potential management and staff positions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Management, Marketing, Healthcare, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.

Skills:

  • Management and sales training courses/experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills in a MS Windows environment and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, change management, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Exhibits professionalism, is ethical, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Well-organized, analytical, and self-directed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to relate to and interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of strategic planning and business development experience required; 5 years preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of air medical experience in program services and/or management role preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of services and operations within the air medical industry and healthcare industry.

Working Conditions and Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • Physical requirements include speaking, hearing, and visual acuity. May be required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.
  • Frequently required to travel for extended periods of time.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Some long hours and work on varied projects with short turnaround times required.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Well-organized, analytical, and self-directed.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
