About the Role
Action For Boston Community Development is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Service Representative to join our team. As a Business Service Representative, you will play a critical role in connecting qualified job seekers with employers, providing the tools and resources needed to start a career, increase skills, or find a new job.
Key Responsibilities
- Employer Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses to promote the Career Centers and provide information on various services available through the Public Workforce System.
- Business Services: Provide a range of services to businesses, including job order posting, job referrals, recruitments, job fairs, referral to partners, apprenticeships, labor market information, and other services as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate placement of Career Center customers into open positions.
- Event Planning: Plan, organize, and conduct job fairs, special events, and recruitments to provide large-scale labor exchange opportunities for both employers and job seekers.
Requirements
- Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of customer service or relevant experience is required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a career center, providing services to businesses, or other related experience is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Ability to function effectively as part of a business services team, knowledge and experience with WIOA (and other Career Center Programs) regulations, programs, guidelines, and administrative requirements are preferred.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
