Position Overview
This role is integral to the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Lodging Program, under the Fleet Readiness (N92) and Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC).
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will manage front desk operations and reservation tasks for the MWR Recreational Lodging Program. This includes overseeing various lodging options such as Recreational Vehicle Parks, Vacation Rentals (including cottages, cabins, and apartments), and campgrounds.
The primary duties include:
- Utilizing the Property Management System (PMS) to manage guest information and reservations.
- Verifying guest registration details and securing credit card information for incidental charges.
- Providing guests with room keys and assisting with customer inquiries and complaints.
- Processing reservations and managing waitlists or alternative lodging options when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records of room assignments and guest accounts.
- Handling cash transactions and preparing financial reports at the end of each shift.
- Ensuring the front desk area is organized and welcoming.
- Generating reports from the PMS, including Expected Arrivals and Night Audit reports.
- Managing communication via phone and logging maintenance requests.
- Coordinating the retrieval of lost items and maintaining an inventory of keys and supplies.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge in hospitality operations. Key qualifications include:
- Understanding of front desk operations in a hotel or recreational setting.
- Familiarity with hospitality standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in using property management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
