Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and select host families in your area, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for international students.
  • Match students with host families, taking into account their individual needs and preferences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local schools, fostering a collaborative environment for international students.
  • Provide support and guidance to students and host families throughout the exchange program, addressing any challenges or concerns that may arise.
  • Serve as a liaison between local students, families, and schools, and our professional support staff, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Requirements:

  • Strong social skills and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to problem-solve, network, communicate effectively, and act objectively, within CIEE and Department of State guidelines.
  • Understanding of cultural differences and a desire to work with international youth.

Training and Support:

CIEE provides comprehensive training for Local Coordinators, covering topics such as placements, supervision and support, conflict mediation and resolution, sales/outreach, and intercultural training. Regional staff members work closely with Local Coordinators to guide them through initial training modules and provide ongoing support and guidance.

Compensation:

Local Coordinators can receive financial compensation in the form of placement and supervision fees, bonuses, and all-inclusive travel incentives. This is an independent contractor role, allowing you to manage your own schedule and work at your own pace.
