Patient Service Representative I

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative I to join our team at Variety Care. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and obtaining patient information.
- Prepare charts for examination, collect and secure collections at patient check-out, and provide back-up and overflow coverage for Front Office Telephone Operator(s).
- Schedule appointments in electronic medical records, post charges and payments, and verify late or open balances.
- Assure waiting area is in good order, follow HIPAA guidelines, and maintain office equipment.
- Support Variety Care's accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and our commitment to provide care to all Variety patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Possesses legible handwriting and basic mathematic skills.
- Possesses ability to work with the public, enter simple data entry, and has basic keyboarding knowledge.
- Able to communicate with patients and staff, trustworthy handling confidential information, and work in an active and stressful environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- One or more years of clerical experience.
- One or more years of customer service experience.
Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and sit for long periods of time.
