Job Description

As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will oversee all guest food & beverage operations and staff to ensure quality and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate effectively to ensure service standards are met or exceeded
  • Direct staff on projects and daily assignments
  • Interact with every dining room guest to evaluate level of service
  • Respond to complaints in written form and work to resolve problems as directed
  • Act as the manager on duty
  • Interact with support departments to meet training needs
  • Assist in establishing new standards, operational, and policy and procedural plans to improve department as needed
  • Supervise in other restaurants as requested

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to Virginia A.B.C. § 4.1-307
  • Associates degree in restaurant management plus 2 years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant operations including supervision OR High school diploma or G.E.D. plus 4 years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant operations and 2 years in supervision
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll systems; computer experience (Microsoft, payroll, etc.)
  • Ability to establish priorities and adjust to changes in business conditions; monitor adherence to standards; deal effectively one on one; present and maintain a warm and enthusiastic demeanor; present information in clear, concise manner
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, week-ends, and holidays


Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain current Williamsburg James City County food handler's card and TIPS certification; applicants with an active card and certification should be prepared to present each during the interview process
