The Senior Capital Projects Manager will oversee significant capital initiatives from inception through to completion. This role involves identifying and articulating project needs, followed by the formulation of project scope and strategic plans to fulfill those needs. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, utilizing project management expertise, methodologies, and tools to support substantial capital endeavors ranging from $5 million to over $100 million. This position is primarily remote, but you should expect to travel 30-50% of the time to collaborate with project teams during the execution phase.
How You Will Make an Impact- Guide the project team towards achieving objectives
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project needs aligned with business objectives
- Engage with stakeholders, including senior management, regarding project progress and direction
- Formulate and oversee the project scope and management plan
- Advocate for the project change management process
- Prepare bid packages and conduct technical evaluations of proposals
- Assess and approve project cost estimates, financial reports, and timelines
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of engineering, consulting, and construction teams
- Assist in the creation and management of procurement and expediting strategies
- Establish and execute a comprehensive project risk management strategy
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred). An advanced degree in business or engineering management is a plus.
- Proficiency in formal Project Management methodologies is essential, with a preference for recognized PM certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional through PMI or equivalent).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the chemical or related sectors, including at least 5 years in project management for large capital projects exceeding $20 million. International project management experience is advantageous.
