Position Available: We are seeking a FULL-TIME (35 hours per week) Prevention Clinician / Preventive Social Worker for our Family Enrichment / Preventive Services Program. Role Summary:
Provide clinical support to clients engaged in the child welfare system through our various programs, including Traditional Preventive and Kinship preventive services, utilizing the Solution Based Casework Model. Collaborate with the Erie County Department of Social Services to prioritize child safety, permanency, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embody the mission and values of Catholic Charities in all interactions
- Establish initial contact with clients and accurately assess their service needs
- Create individualized treatment plans for clients, whether individuals, families, or groups
- Identify problem areas and formulate focused diagnoses, demonstrating the role in the treatment process
- Make appropriate referrals and ensure follow-up
- Proactively engage in advocacy efforts when necessary
- Maintain collaborative relationships with community resources to ensure effective service delivery
- Participate in community initiatives related to agency goals
- Contribute to special agency committees as needed
- Meet performance expectations set by the agency
- Utilize case management systems to document services provided
- Work closely with the Department of Social Services to fulfill all contractual obligations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience working with children and families, particularly those involved in the child welfare system
- Commitment to promoting equity and inclusion
- Strong interviewing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and produce results
- Capability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Proficiency in various computer applications and electronic database systems
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass required background checks
- Travel may be required; reliable transportation and appropriate insurance coverage are necessary
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate client needs
