Job Title: Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at NEW CARROT FARMS LLC. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the overall success of our farming operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial transactions, including account reconciliations, and ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Prepare requested management reporting and analyze grow costs for outside growers.
  • Accounting accruals, reclasses, estimates, and miscoding.
  • Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper application of internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with SOX.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, AP, AR, Treasury, and other departments to ensure accounting issues are properly addressed.
  • Assist with Annual Financial Statement Audit.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Record and categorize expenses, income, and other financial transactions.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for farming activities.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with farm managers and other stakeholders to understand financial needs.
  • Clearly communicate financial information to non-financial team members.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial management.
  • Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency of financial processes.
Requirements:
  • High School/GED or three to five years' experience in related field or combination of both education and experience.
  • 3-5 years accounting experience. Farm accounting experience preferred, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration.
  • Agriculture or cost accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with JD Edwards.
