Position Overview:

As the Manager of Test Engineering, you will be responsible for supervising and directing all test initiatives assigned to the Test Laboratory, with a primary focus on the qualification testing of aircraft water and waste vacuum systems. This position demands an experienced leader capable of guiding and nurturing a team of Test Engineers and Technicians while ensuring compliance with rigorous aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership in Projects: Spearhead qualification testing programs, including endurance cycles, vibration assessments, thermal cycling, pressure proofing, and freeze tests. Oversee project timelines, matrices, budgets, and reporting dashboards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Author, review, and endorse test plans, procedures, and reports. Design and document test fixtures as required to support testing protocols.
  • Process Improvement: Create and refine Test Lab procedures. Contribute to resource planning to guarantee the availability of essential tools, equipment, and fixtures for testing requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide managerial guidance to a team of Test Engineers and Technicians. Assist and support Test Engineers in executing tests efficiently and effectively.
  • Professional Development: Cultivate talent within the team to ensure expertise in various development and qualification tests. Promote a culture of continuous learning and enhancement.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to company safety protocols and aerospace industry regulations throughout all testing processes.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in engineering related to qualification testing, particularly with water and vacuum systems.
  • Background in the aerospace industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW and experience in designing and constructing test fixtures.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Knowledge of environmental qualification testing as per RTCA/DO-160 standards.
