Key Responsibilities:

The Foster Care Coordinator will be tasked with identifying the ideal pet for a diverse group of Foster Heroes, ensuring a rewarding experience for both the animal and the caregiver. As a leader in animal welfare, we aim to positively impact the lives of all pets through our life-saving initiatives. Our foster program facilitates the placement of over 3,000 pets annually, and your role as a matchmaker is crucial to this success.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred experience in basic animal handling
  • Exceptional telephone and customer service skills, maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with AHS Foster Heroes using customer relationship management tools
  • Process new Foster Hero applications and assess their eligibility
  • Effectively communicate medical or behavioral needs to potential Foster Heroes
  • Match pets requiring foster care with suitable Foster Heroes based on specific needs and capabilities
  • Maintain professional communication with Foster Heroes via phone, text, and email
  • Create engaging online posts for pets in need of foster care
  • Respond promptly and courteously to incoming communications
  • Monitor foster capacity and recognize critical shelter needs
  • Prioritize pet placements based on shelter requirements
  • Assist Foster Heroes with inquiries and concerns regarding their foster pets
  • Schedule pet releases efficiently
  • Identify foster emergencies and maintain communication with the medical team
  • Document all interactions and follow-ups regarding Foster Hero matters
  • Effectively communicate AHS's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures

Work Environment:

This role may require standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment may include exposure to animal noises, odors, and dander, with most time spent in a climate-controlled office setting.
